| Yogi Tea Recipe
Nothing tastes as good as a cup of Yogi Tea after Kundalini Yoga class! Students insisted; here is the recipe for our Yogi Tea: 10 cups spring water 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns 1 teaspoon whole cloves 40 whole green cardamom pods 1 1/2 - 2 cups sliced fresh ginger 6 small cinnamon sticks or 3 big sticks 1 black tea bag 2 cups whole milk Honey to taste --------------------------------------------- Combine water, black pepper, cloves, cardamom pods, ginger, and cinnamon in a slow cooker (crock pot). Cook on low all night and wake up to a house that smells terrific. Add the teabag and let steep for 3 minutes. Strain ingredients and return to crock pot, on high heat. Add milk and bring to a boil. Add honey to taste. To adjust the spiciness to your preference, add more milk and honey. Serve hot, warm or cold. Short on time: You may cook on high and let the mixture come to a boil for a while. Then add the tea bag, strain….etc. To make ahead: Yogi Tea will keep in the refrigerator up to 3 days. Add milk only to the amount of Yogi Tea you plan to drink immediately. Keep the remaining Yogi Tea in the refrigerator; reheat and add milk as desired. Sat Nam ~ |
